Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara Province

Lombok island becomes our data collection’s scope of work also the meeting place for stakeholders and fishers to held the knowledge-sharing program. Since started the activities in 2012, we have been improving the fisheries management of Lombok fishers through data collection to develop tuna management. After more than 8 years, we have supported approximately 151 fishers in 2 villages with 4 staff working on the site. In 2021, Lombok has started the program to empower coastal community members through fisheries community organization.

The Main Activities

1. Fisheries Improvement

  • Port-side data collection at 4 landing sites
  • Small-vessel technology implementation, including Onboard observers, Pelagic Data Systems (PDS), Reolink and Trekfish

 

2. Community Organization

  • Helped the community to start the Kelompok Usaha Bersama Harapan Jaya association
  • Empower coastal communities through champions formation

 

3. Statistic

  • Registered vessel (as of 2020): 347 vessels for the Pas Kecil and BPKP
  • Vessel with on-board tech installed: 2
  • Total kg of port sampling: 68,212 kg
